After a lot of swirling, sniffing, tasting and comparing, we here at Middle Ruddings, in conjunction with Grapevine, the Wine Company have had great fun choosing a selection of wines from around the world to complement our menu.
Classic French wines sit side by side with boutique styles from Australia and South Africa, stylish Champagnes and top rosés from Chile. Our choices are designed to offer our guests the opportunity to try some truly delicious wines at reasonable prices; to push their taste buds to experience new flavours and hopefully enjoy them as much as we did!

Stunning deep Sauvignon with a long lasting flavour. Flavours of Gooseberries and asparagus. This wine is very good with fish dishes but will go with pork and most poultry- we love it!

#10a Fontana Oveja Dry Muscat, Northern Castile, Spain
Located at an altitude of between 700 and 900m in Uclés, Northern Castile, the growing conditions are ideal for producing wines of great purity, freshness and varietal expressiveness. Pale yellow in colour, this is an intensely aromatic wine with aromas of Muscat grapes and prange blossom. The palate is light-bodied and fresh with a crisp acidity that makes it an ideal partner to seafood or to drink as an apéritif.

From England's olden vineyard; this otega grape varietal offers and off-dry style with distinctive fragrances and a vibrant acidity. Serve slightly chilled as an aperitif or with food.

#26 Bon Courage Robertson Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz, Robertson, South Africa
A sublime marriage of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon resulting in silky tannins with layers of dark fruit and spice. An excellent choice with steak, but works well on its own too!
#27 Verosso Primitivo Salento IGT, Salento, Italy
An intense ruby-red colour, with a full and complex nose, this wine's incredibnle richness is due to the appassimento process whereby the grapes are dried on racks after picking to concentrate the flavours. A soft and attractive red wine with the fruit sweetness to go well with game.
#28 Aves del Sur Carmenere, Central valley, Chille
Chile's own grape varietal, Carmenere offers something a little different with aromas of wild black fruits, blackberries and dried prunes. A punchy palate with plenty of spice and smokiness.
#29 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Telegramme, Rhone, France
Younger brother to the world-famous Vieux Telegraphe, it is a beautifully constructed blend of Granache and Mourvedre from the domaine's younger vines. The nose is characterised by a marvellous dusty softness, costed with raspberry fruit and spice, while the palate brims over with blackcurrant, chocolate and plums.
#30 C.J. Pask Declaration merlot, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand
From the Giblett Road vineyards of Hawkes Bay, this wine was declared best Merlot 2006. Deep purple with intense concentrated aromas of plum and spice with a sweet oak lift. The palate shows an elegant, intense Merlot showing ripe fruits, with an intergrated oak hint, fine tannins and a weighty plum flavour. A delectable partner to roasted vegtables and peppered red meats.
#31 Bon Courage Inkara Shiraz, Robertson, South Africa
Bon Courage has more accolades than any other winery in South Africa and with good reason. Based in the Robertson region, this premium red comes from single-vineyard, hand-picked grapes and offers a blend of red berry fruits with notes of coffee, chocolate and smoky oak. Round and full, ripe and fresh, surrounded in silky yet subtle tannins with plenty of 'punch'. The big brother to our Cab Sauv Shiraz (#21) and perfect with full flavoured roasts and rich sauces.

#34 Prosecco Lucas botter, Veneto, Italy
An attractive biscuity nose leading onto a bright fruity palate with hints of pear and melon. An excellent aperitif and very stylish.

A fine blend of Reichensteiner, Pinot Noir, Ortega and Scheurebe grapes. A highly commended, off-dry English sparling wine with forward fruit flavours.
